Phenolics.....What are they? Am I sensitive to them?

Phenolics are naturally occurring organic compounds that are in most foods.  They are responsible for taste and smell of the food.

Patients who have symptoms that are due to a Phenolic compound are not allergic to them but are intolerant or sensitive.  They are able to tolerate a limited amount of the Phenolic, but if the intake exceeds this, then symptoms appear.  Tolerance level reduces as more symptoms occur, but if the Phenolic is avoided the tolerance increases.  The best practical policy is for the person to be conscious not to eat foods that contain the offending Phenolic.   Phenolic intolerances can be the explanation for symptoms that appear to have no trigger and occurs randomly.  This is particularly true for nicotine and tyramine Phenolics, but can apply to all of them.

Malvin is a phenolic pigment responsible for the red and blue coloring in plants.  Malvin is highly neurological in benefit and activity.  Malvin should be addressed in children with ADD, Dyslexia, and some forms of Autism.   It is also a major influence in children with Asthma, particularly when the asthma is enhanced by exercise or excitement.  Treatment of Malvin has been successful with the use of the laser for psoriasis and arthritis.

Malvin occurs naturally in the following foods:  any plant that displays blue, red, or purple coloring.  Can be found in cows milk, apple, apricot, avocado, banana, red beans, beet, sugar beet, blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry, cabbage, carrot, cashew nut, cherry, cinnamonm, corn, cranberry, eggplant, fig, red & green grapes, grapefruit, honey, green & ripe olives, peas, peache, pear, pimento, plum, potato, radish, strawberry, tomato, turnip, walnut, and watermelon.   People sensitive to Malvin may also be sensitive to blue and red food colorings.

The laser addresses phenolic burdens in the body.  We also have supplements that are important to unburden the body from phenolics and help eliminate their disruptive influence on the body.
