Essential Oil Tea

A note about using essential oils to make tea.  Honey acts as a dispersing agent, helping to keep the essential first oils and water from separating.  Extra virgin coconut oil (1Tbsp) may also be used as an agent.  Remember oil and water do not mix so use an agent to keep the oil from sticking to the sides of the glass.  Another note: use glass not plastic when using oils.

Boil water first.  Add honey and oils to the water and blend in a blender at high speed for 60 seconds.  Enjoy the therapeutic steam, aroma, and great taste.  Consider oils such as lemon, peppermint, grapefruit, cinnamon, lavender or eucalyptus.  Some essential blends such as respiratory blend, digestive blend, citrus bliss, and protective are also wonderful to use in your tea.  Remember, some essential oils are very potent and a little goes a long way.

Essential oil teas are absorbed quickly into the organs and inner tissues of the body as it travels down the esophagus.

Enjoy and keep oiling!!
