My first chiropractic experience was a last resort that my parents came up with to try and help with a shoulder injury. I played travel softball and was a pitcher which caused some trauma to my throwing shoulder. I had surgery to fix the tear in my labrum, however, the pain was not alleviated. At the time I was a young teenager approaching high school softball, so I was willing to try anything. But, I was not expecting a big result since I had been dealing with the pain for so long. As soon as the chiropractor knew my history, he found ‘the spot’ that was causing my pain. After my initial adjustment I was pain free in my shoulder before I even got up off the table. From that point on I was sold on chiropractic care and all it can do for our bodies.
I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois before relocating to Iowa for college. I lived in Davenport, Iowa to complete my undergraduate degree and moved on to get my Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. During my time at Palmer, I heard about animal chiropractic and instantly became interested in it after growing up with dogs. That led me to attend All Creatures Every Spine (A.C.E.S.) in Meridian, Texas to obtain my certification in Animal Chiropractic.
